Well, only one more step and that is done on Monday tomorrow, and then my work for Digital Art will be handed up and complete :).

Two of my animations for my Digital Art final. I am still working on the middle for my final, I want to try to get it to at least a minute long, but animation is very time consuming. You do so much animating and it barely amounts to any amount of time.
But these animations aren't bad, it's my first time animating with puppets in After Effects.

This image is very big, I have been working on the full thing in Photoshop and it is true A4 size. I cropped this to the faces because I am very pleased with the face shapes ^^, especially the boys'. The white space is another part of the cover that I haven't yet drawn up with Photoshop.
I am quite happy with the way this is turning out, it is my first comic book cover :D.

It is a fan-comic for the game Dragon Age Origins. When you play a Mage, your start is; you are woken in the middle of the night to take part in a dangerous test that allows you to be a full-fledged Mage.
Well, I thought, I would not be able to wake up for such a test if it were in the middle of the night. I am a very heavy sleeper. So, my girl here, cannot wake up for her test ^^.
I was laughing while drawing this. I am very pleased with it.

This started out as a pen sketch in my specialisation journal. I liked it a lot so I scanned it in and worked into it more on Photoshop. I want to also colour this :).

This was inspired from watching The Return of the King again; right at the end when Aragorn and Arwen meet again after everything. It was so sweet, I wanted to draw that sweetness.

Printmaking Project - Pride and Prejudice Portraits

My first portraits are complete. I want them printed on plain A4 white paper, no resizing at all.
I wanted these portraits to resemble a lino cut look. I am very happy with these two particular portraits. Although I like all of the ones I've drawn, some are more successful than others.

I have finished all the portraits now, I plan to display these as a wall piece. Altogether.

I had some spare pages after my walking flipbook so I did some more practice (plus I am waiting for the batteries to charge so I can do a charcoal animation to ^^). I am happy with my progress, Miiku is smiling and waving. Only had six pages though :P, I would have done some more arm movements if there was more room after my walking animation.

Just more practice, I bought a new sketch journal and this is the first thing in it ^^. I was thinking of more storyboard practice for an action scene, but it sort of turned into a comic book as well lol. I do like it though. It is a fight between my Miiku and the antagonist, Zahlandra, who is my evil sorceress in my story.

Animating in Photoshop

Finished the animation. My next project I will tackle more to animate :). I am pleased with how this has turned out.

Done a background, and outlined Amara in black ^^. Just WIP update, I have colour to do now :P. I also gave her a cloak because she is in the snow!

My first go at animating in Photoshop, it is very choppy. I think I tried to animate too much and I am inexperienced at the moment :P. Still it is good practice.

I animated her face, hair and ears.

Second practice with Photoshop, this one has more frames so that the animation doesn't stop and start. Nine frames for this one instead of five in my Miiku one. Gonna work more on this one, just happy this is good ^^.

I was just practicing with water colours to draw backgrounds, so far in this animation I am up to 50 frames and I still have a way for Miiku to go before she gets to the front of the image. And then I am going to have to flesh her out and work on the form more. So far though, I am happy I have been able to move the figure and it is walking :). Just so much work to do and working on the computer tires me out a lot.

I think this is finished. It was a big project, I am pleased with how it turned out. These are my characters Amara and Miiku, in a county fair. It's my first time adding a lot of people in besides my main characters, so it was very good practice.

Finished the lineart, took pretty much all morning to complete. I now have the hard step of colouring this. Though hopefully it shouldn't be too bad, I hope I can magic wand and fill colour into the drawing without having to patch up holes in the lineart.

Finally finished the sketch for my New Years celebration picture ^^. This is a big project, I have a lot of work ahead of me. I can start my lineart now though :). I really like how this has been turning out.

The sketch I've been working on these past days, it took me ages to get to this stage. I was sketching my characters for quite a bit before I got something I was pleased with.

I still need to finish the background and then I can start colouring this one.

Pen, Pastel and Pencil Sketch

An old one, I was flicking through what I had in my journal on my desk and I wondered why I never uploaded this XD lol. I am quite proud of this, it is meant to be Tyrande from the Warcraft stories. She is like one of my favourite characters :). I just really like how I built up the face in this.

This one is old! It's when Fairytails was a Blood Elf still :P. I drew this because I wanted to draw one of the helmets with her ears and hair. I needed to work on the facial expressions, although I am pleased with how I used the coloured pencil with this.

I like this sketch a lot, it is suppose to be a Dwarf woman from World of Warcraft. She is another one of my characters :P. I am really pleased with it but I am not sure what to do with it from here, I have sort of left it as a pencil sketch. I might finish it on SAI later.

This is one of my suerpheroes ^^. I have a Teen Superhero group that has to save the world because they are the only superheroes left (all the adult superheroes have been beaten! And some of them have been turned into slaves).

This is Bunny, she is the leader and her powers are super strength and flight. She is like the Superman figure ^^.

My mum wanted me to draw the portrait of our family friend yesterday. I don't think it came out too badly, I didn't want to put pastel on this one. There would probaby be inconsistencies in the perspective, because I started to draw with three different types, although I drew it down to have it looking sort of realistic. I think it works, I quite like it as it is.

Something I did yesterday, my mum brought me some flowers home from Goolwa and I used the dirt from my backyard for this. I think this looks very Australian, the cat tails are so nice ^^.

I kept forgetting to take a photo of this one for ages, this is the final I made for my second assignment for Life Drawing. The character is my Miiku and I used a photograph of myself for the reference. I am quite proud of how it's turned out, I am most proud of the face ^^. There are anatomical errors in this drawing, but I think it works well.

Edited a little bit from the initial sketch, I corrected the back leg of my Hippogriff, and I am quite happy with this lineart ^^.

Haven't made anymore progress with my storyboard, I am still thinking of key scenes for it and then thinking of how to draw it lol.

I quite like this, I forgot my pastels today so I couldn't make it colour. I would have liked to make it colour but it works quite well as black and white.

I'm not sure on the anatomy, it's harder for me to see when drawing straight onto the computer than when I have my copy on paper. I think the anatomy is ok, but there are places where I think I need more work on.
I am quite happy with this nonetheless, it had been a long time since I drew Amara lol, so I felt happy with that :). Miiku's face is a lot different because the Siamese nose is a lot closer to the face, and Amara has a much wider jaw.
I still need more practice on getting my Miiku's hair right, it is hard for me to draw dead straight hair :P. Amaras hair in contrast is quite fun, because it is just made up of straight lines ^^.

It's a little bit dark, haven't tried to install my scanner since I put Windows 7 on because it didn't work with Vista but I will try to see if my scanner will work with 7. I am quite happy with this piece.
It is a Christmas drawing/card for my friend, it's her character with my style of drawing and colouring. I am pleased with my marker work, although the marker still bled even with the thicker paper of the cards.

My Miiku, I've been drawing a lot of her lately. I have been trying desperately to get her right ^^. I want to draw my characters for easy animation, and it is hard. Miiku's mouth is something I need to work on, because it is not a human's mouth like in most cartoons, and it is more human than Bugs Bunny. I am happy with how it's coming along though :). And I am pleased with Miiku's eyes as well :).

This character is from the video game, Knights of the Old Republic 2 by Bioware. I used him to practice a cartoon style and my work with copic markers :). I am pleased with how this turned out, but I am displeased wtih the rest of his body lol. So that is why I only scanned in this part :P.

Waaai ^^ I'm very pleased with myself :). My Animator's Survival Kit book just came today, and I wanted to get cracking. I used my Miiku for animation because my Miiku is the star of my personal project for drawing ^^. I am quite pleased with how this turned out. I'm on my way to being an animator :D.

Comic Practice - Marker Practice

This one I was inspired to draw with reference to the illustrations of Miwa Ueda for her Peach Girl manga. I love the girly romance in those Japanese stories, and playing KOTOR2 it just made me think of how it is in the shoujo manga. So I drew my pink haired Jedi with the female side love interests. This is not accurate at all, it was originally meant to stay as a sketch, but I just wanted to colour it. So it became some pretty good marker practice ^^. I plan to draw a different version of this in pastels or on Paint Tool SAI, but after my assessment is over. Less than a week now.
Just playing around with markers, and working on a drawing technique to make it easier for when I am doing animation next year.
This is my character for the Star Wars KOTOR 2 ^^, I originally started her off looking more like the in game character, but I pink hair(I want some in real life!). But I have just been into a more Japanese style since replaying my Star Wars games, and I want to use my pink haired girl for my animation studies :). I feel she will be easier to animate than my furry people lol.

Life Drawing - Life Scale

I was originally scared about the life scale, but it didn't turn out bad. I am really pleased with the drawings I did on Monday's class. The one on the top was a quickish drawing I did after we drew the life scale. We didn't have to draw accurately for the second one because the life scale was my accurate one ^^.
It is really long, I shudder to think of how I am going to take it into class for assessment :<.

Not that good of a photo of this work, I am pleased with how it is coming along. I love line, I find Miiku looks better with line especially since she is my cartoon character. The background is way better now than it was before, I prefer it this way.

What I've been doing for my personal project for Drawing ^^. She is my character, Miiku and I've been using myself as a model while putting Siamese cat features onto the face to produce the drawing :). I am happy with how it is coming along. I am a long way from finished on this piece though :P. Way more paper to cover for this drawing.
I still don't know what to do for my final for this project, but I am happy with the way it it going ^^.

UPDATED: Draw another face in, not finished yet, but I liked the way the fur came out ^^.
Worked on the drawing more :) I am happy with how it's coming out.

Started with my drawing from the train into town and then CGd in Paint Tool SAI. I liked how it turned out, but as I was drawing this on the computer; I was just thinking of how I could come up with a faster way to draw in all of her stripes. Since I'm planning to get into animation I need to make it easy to animate ^^. But I need to work that out later.

The only good photo of these that came out is my extended drawing :<. I still like the quick sketches though, I was thinking of how Matisse brougth his figures together as plain line ^^ and tried to imitate something of that quality.

But my charcoal shading practice came out because my teacher told me to be braver when putting tone down, so I tried to go all out with my tone lol.

Just some experimental drawings of media. I plan to use this sort of media for my second final involving my own characters ^^. Personally I really like the oil pastel drawing at the top, but I am fond of all my marker experiments. Though my marker drawings look much better on white paper than brown paper. When I start my final for this I will have to keep that in consideration. Still unsure of what type of direction to head in for my final, I know I want to involve my little Siamese girl some some colourful form of colouring; but I don't know what the final will look like in my mind yet :<.

I am not really an abstract drawer, even though I like the look of some sort of abstraction I don't like the look of a lot of other abstraction. I can't seem to not draw the figure though. Even Picasso's form of Cubism is too abstracted for me lol. But I am pleased with this.

I've only complete these three ATCs right now. They are my characters, the two anthropomorphic girls are characters that I plan to write in a story I have in my mind. I have yet to start writing it, but hopefully I will soon :). The human girl is a farm girl from France, and she appeared in my head after watching Beauty and the Beast ^^.
I have only been colouring them in with coloured pencil so far, but I plan to colour some more in with my copic markers. After I draw all my characters first :D.

I need to upload some more of my own work, I have my painting I've been working on, it's almsot done. So hopefully I'll have it up not too late ^^. Also I've been working on some Artist Trading Cards so I plan to upload them when I have them all drawn.
On the picture, I am pleased with it. It was much more fun that Monday's class because it was more free :). When on Monday I was upset with my drawings because it was so difficult :<, severe perspective is hard.

This is my 3 hour drawing from this week's drawing :). I am quite happy with it. I think I will try to be more expressive next week and step out of my comfort zone, but I am happy with this anyway ^^.

Life Drawing - Hands this Week

I'm quite pleased with this weeks drawing classes ^^; this one is the one I am most proud of (and I should cause this is the extended pose drawing lol, 3 hours). It is a sort-ish time period, but it was enough time for this drawing to be completed I think.
This was a drawing of the skeleton and model. I did a blind contour of the skeleton first and rubbed it back; and then I started drawing the model over the top of it.

Life Drawing Progress

My drawings from today's Life Drawing class ^^, I am quite pleased with how they turned out. I normally don't like blind contours but I quite liked the like quality of this one :). And my extended pose drawing I really am pleased with.
Again I still need work on my gridding of the pose, but I am always trying to use the scale and gridlines every time I start a longer pose like this one. Hopefully I can get the gridding under my belt soon :).

Some results from my first week back. Not including theory. I don't think I did too badly coming back to drawing the life model. I need to work more on getting the proportions right, I still am having a hard time with the gridding.

My Nightmare in colour, and I had a hard time with the perspective :< I think I drew her ear too small but the perspective on the face confused me T_T.
Overall I'm pleased with it, I drew on the oekaki board because SAI decided to stop working properly with my tablet pressure.

Pencil Work, and Character Creation

I drew a character I made up in my mind from watching X-Men; she is Amelia Watkins, her power is an ability to give a corporeal form to fear. Because she sees for own fears from the age of 13 she is afraid of her own powers and deeply afraid of hurting people.
I tried to draw a younger looking character, I think she looks young although I don't know now how 13 year olds look anymore lol.
When she turned 21 she calls herself, Nightmare (all superheroes have codenames ^^).
I am pleased with my pencil work with these pictures, I was thinking of adding some black ink to the line but I thought that might be far too dark for the pencil and look a bit ugly.

I'm pleased with this landscape, I drew it from a drawing of the landscape (I was in the Botanic Gardens at the time). I am starting to understand the media a lot more now, and I know I have a long way to go, but I am really pleased with this ^^.

I am pleased with the face, I used some drawing references from Monet and Michelangelo to build the face up. I really like the eye and the nose ^^.
I have not yet finished, but I wanted to scan it in at this stage to capture this particular stage. Just in case the colouring doesn't look as good :).

Experimentation

Just a series of experimentation with marker on cartridge paper. This is the first time I've actually created a piece specifically aimed at using the bleeding for more images, and I purposefully made my first image darker than I would have liked; but it gives the other two drawings a nice background I think.

Alternate Drawing - Collaborative Project

The Princess and the Sorcerer - New Work in Progress

This is the first sketch for a series of paintings that I have in mind, and written down :P. I don't think that this one will be the first painting in the series, and I want to do some more research on some more painters. I am still working on my painting skills and I am currently looking closely at Hogarth who I am looking at for his Marriage a la Mode paintings. I think that when I finish my sketches and start painting I will have a greater idea of how my end plan will turn out like.
But here is my first sketch, featuring my Princess and her admirer, who is her fathers' aid, who is also my Sorcerer.
I did not want my story to be like some Disney fairy tale, so I did not want my Princess to hate him. I tried my best to have her turn away not knowing what to do rather than to turn away in disgust. I think I drew her face the way I hoped. Anywho, this being a sketch and the first one drawn so far it will probably with no doubt change.

Work for Alternate Drawing

This is a second drawing I did for a project for my Alternate Drawing class, the first one I did I was not happy with at all. That is why I drew this one and I'm quite happy with my linework and the composition for it :).
It's black marker on cardboard, it does not cover the whole space but I do like the composition of this picture as it is.

I liked the result of my expressive play last night that I've decided to draw more faces along the same style ^^. This is one that I just drew today during my break. I don't know exactly what I feel about this piece, I think it's at a finished state but I don't know exactly what it makes me feel. I was sort of drawing this one unconsciously as I was waiting for my tutorial.

Expressive Markmaking

Drew this on my lap while watching A New Hope ^^. I felt like drawing with my markers that I just picked up my little A5 sketch journal and started drawing quickly with my mechanical pencil. I didn't like the first figure that I drew because I thought it to be too small for marker work, and that is why I drew the bigger figure on the edge to be able to work the markers over the skin of the face and hair.
I quite like the effect of this quick work. What I've learned from my life drawing classes has greatly improved my drawings. I particularly like how her face turned out with the marks from the marker for the shadows and the pen over the top and pencil underneath.
This post is to make up for my lack of posting this week :<, the batteries in my camera ran out and it takes AGES to recharge them. So I have not been able to take some pictures of my work this week. I've only got this one up because it's on such small paper.

Work from Life Drawing

Here are some of my drawings from my most recent Life Drawing classes.
The nude is from the week previous to this current week, we had a review that session so the drawing was almost free choice. I personally wish I had more time on this picture, I wanted to fix that arm (which I didn't see what was quite wrong until almost the end of the session) so the arm is a bit too short :<. I do like the rest of it though, and I really like the effect you can get by rubbing back into the charcoal with the putty eraser ^^.These hands and feet were from my last Life Drawing class, and I have to add, I really hate drawing the skeleton :<. It's just quite annoying and it kind of hurts the eyes to try and see if that blur right there is another bone behind the one in front or if your eyes are just playing tricks on you lol. Anywho, even if I didn't enjoy drawing the skeleton I like how the skeleton's hands came out in my drawing. I had 30 minutes for this drawing so there would be a lot of inaccuracies if I went looking for them.
These feet are not that bad I suppose, the one in the centre I am a bit unhappy about because I ran out of time for it :<, I had wanted to go over it with compressed but there was no time.
With these hands, I sort of like them, I like the one on the bottom more than the top, but with the feet I ran out of time on this :<. Life Drawing classes need to run for longer! I just wish I had more time on this to work back into the hand on the top and to draw the rest of the arms to give the hands a context.

Hey there,
My name is Wunlee and I will use this Blogspot to post my art.
In my practice I enjoy to use charcoal, pencils and my digital tablet on this I use Paint Tool SAI to draw with.
I love cartoons and comic books and I commonly draw some of my favourite cartoon characters. As well as cartoons and comics I love nature, I do happen to enjoy still life. There is just something about a still life that I enjoy drawing.
At present my most favourite way of drawing is putting white onto black, something which I had discovered I enjoyed drawing my Life Drawing class and I have continually used it in my own personal work for my personal improvement or the subject has some sort of reason for being inside my mind.

For my first post of my first blog I'll post up the first image in my Tonal Series, it is one of the villains from the cartoon, Digimon Adventure, Vandemon or Myotismon. I grew up watching Digimon every day before school and Vandemon has always been my favourite.
