Realism Work

I've been watching Romeo and Juliet(1968) over and over, and I love it so much. These are characters from my story, at the final of the movie. I am very happy with the faces :).

Studio Final

My final animation, it's a compilation of all my other animations plus my background ideas and paintings from what I did last semester.
This one has sound, and I am quite pleased with it :).
The music is Berlioz Les Troyans: Royal Hunt and Storm. And I downloaded the sounds for free sound sites.

My second to last animation, my last one will be a painted sort of animation.

Digital Art animation- final

The middle part of my Digital Art project. It is a lot harder to get the time up when animating, you become so proud of a movement you've done, and then when you look back you realise that that movement only takes up about 2 seconds max :<.
Well, only one more step and that is done on Monday tomorrow, and then my work for Digital Art will be handed up and complete :).

Digital Art animation - 2 finished

Two of my animations for my Digital Art final. I am still working on the middle for my final, I want to try to get it to at least a minute long, but animation is very time consuming. You do so much animating and it barely amounts to any amount of time.
But these animations aren't bad, it's my first time animating with puppets in After Effects.

Bird Chatting 2

This is the neighbour to the previous birdie chatting away.

Bird Chatting

This was originally meant to be a bird singing (properly this time), but he looks like he's chatting to his neighbour in the tree next door. So he is a chatty bird ^^.

Comic Character Practice

I have been practicing with cartoon styles. This is only a short cartoon, I have been working on facial structures for cartoons and expressions. I quite like the movement in this comic ^^.

Bird Eating

I am quite pleased with this, although it is only 3 seconds long I like the ending a lot. It took a lot of tedious drawings for moving his head up and down, but the ending was most fun.

Animation - Bird Singing

Getting into the groove of animating, a very short animating of my birdie. I want to draw my cartoon characters but I need to animate more of my birdies for my studio final. I will end up putting a lot of these birdies together as a single animation, with sound ^^.

Dalish Origin - Cover Page Colour

I am quite pleased with this, especially with my elven figures :). It's just flat colour and a little bit of highlighting.

More Pastel Drawing

From the same brainwave of my last pastel drawing, I figure this could be grouped as a series :). I am quite happy with this one, the plaits of hers are good inspiration for her to do something like this when she is bored ^^.

Pastel Work

I added a little bit more to the drawing, I wanted to try and resolve the bottom. I think it works alright.
I wanted to do some pastel and charcoal work because it has been so long since I have used them :). I quite like how she turned out.

Animation Practice - Finished Bird

I finished all the steps that I had planned out, it seems that my bird has transformed into another smaller bird during the animation too. I need to work on keeping the proportions right for my final animations.

More Animation Practice

This is practice for me to get my head around animating the wing movement from the side perspective. I didn't intend for it to be pretty, it's just meant for me to understand how it should look.

Cover WIP Tonal Experiment

This is the most recent wip for the cover. I quite like the halftone effect :).



Just experimenting with some halftone filters with the tone. I think it looks alright.

Bird Animation WIP

This is half of the animation I have planned for this little birdie. The next half is coming when I work out in my head how I am to animate him jumping up correctly :).
I need more video reference on the animals.

Comic Cover tone WIP

Added a darker tone to my girl. I'm not sure if it is all right, but then I had no reference for the shadows. I quite like the tonal look :).

Photoshop Animation - Bird

I am practicing to animate animals. It is a lot harder to get them to look realistic without a reference. So I have decided to be a bit cartoon-y.

More Photoshop Practice

My third practice with animating in Photoshop. It is only really key frames, like the other practices. But I think for my final that would be really all I have time to draw, like when I was watching the pencil tests for the Avatar the Last Airbender.

My Comic Cover WIP

This image is very big, I have been working on the full thing in Photoshop and it is true A4 size. I cropped this to the faces because I am very pleased with the face shapes ^^, especially the boys'. The white space is another part of the cover that I haven't yet drawn up with Photoshop.
I am quite happy with the way this is turning out, it is my first comic book cover :D.

My First Comic

It is a fan-comic for the game Dragon Age Origins. When you play a Mage, your start is; you are woken in the middle of the night to take part in a dangerous test that allows you to be a full-fledged Mage.
Well, I thought, I would not be able to wake up for such a test if it were in the middle of the night. I am a very heavy sleeper. So, my girl here, cannot wake up for her test ^^.
I was laughing while drawing this. I am very pleased with it.

Linework in Photoshop

This started out as a pen sketch in my specialisation journal. I liked it a lot so I scanned it in and worked into it more on Photoshop. I want to also colour this :).

This was inspired from watching The Return of the King again; right at the end when Aragorn and Arwen meet again after everything. It was so sweet, I wanted to draw that sweetness.

Realism Work - The Old Lion

He does look like a defeated lion to me. When I started this I originally planned to have this as a part of a series, of tyrants. Which I never got around to doing :/. Maybe I will later if I have time.

Printmaking Project - Pride and Prejudice Portraits

My first portraits are complete. I want them printed on plain A4 white paper, no resizing at all.
I wanted these portraits to resemble a lino cut look. I am very happy with these two particular portraits. Although I like all of the ones I've drawn, some are more successful than others.







I have finished all the portraits now, I plan to display these as a wall piece. Altogether.

More Pride and Prejudice - Miss Elizabeth Bennet

Finished Lizzy :), painted on Paint Tool SAI and referenced from a screencap of the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth played by Jennifer Ehle.

I am very happy with this one :).

Realism Work - Mr Darcy

This was referenced from a screencap from the BBCs Pride and Prejudice, I used Colin Firth as Mr Darcy as the reference.
Personally I think I need more work on my realism skills, but I don't know what else this drawing needs for it to be finished.

Two Lovers My NEW Story ^^

I can't stop thinking about my new story :), these two are my main characters, Marie and Marius. I am still working on the story, the story only just came to me on Sunday XD.

Finally finished this flipbook, it is 19 pages. This character is mine, her name is Miiku.
I am happy with this ^^.

My first time with charcoal animation, I had the idea to animate our toys. I only animated a little bit. Just an experimentation with this way of animating. I need to get braver and change more or larger things.

Flipbook Animation - Number 2

I had some spare pages after my walking flipbook so I did some more practice (plus I am waiting for the batteries to charge so I can do a charcoal animation to ^^). I am happy with my progress, Miiku is smiling and waving. Only had six pages though :P, I would have done some more arm movements if there was more room after my walking animation.

Flipbook Animation

My first time animating with a hand made flipbook with no guillotine, I need to make the rest of the flipbooks at Uni so I can cut them neatly XD. Anywho, it is very choppy, but she is walking. My first time animating with a flipbook ^^. Miiku is walking.

Cartoons

Just a sketch for now, going to colour it on Photoshop. It is my character and my boyfriends character from WoW playing with our new toys. Mine is the Wind Rider and I drew it more like a kitten playing, and my boyfriends is like a puppy being taught to sit.
I quite like this cartoon.

Storyboard Practice

Just more practice, I bought a new sketch journal and this is the first thing in it ^^. I was thinking of more storyboard practice for an action scene, but it sort of turned into a comic book as well lol. I do like it though. It is a fight between my Miiku and the antagonist, Zahlandra, who is my evil sorceress in my story.

Animating in Photoshop

Finished the animation. My next project I will tackle more to animate :). I am pleased with how this has turned out.

Done a background, and outlined Amara in black ^^. Just WIP update, I have colour to do now :P. I also gave her a cloak because she is in the snow!

My first go at animating in Photoshop, it is very choppy. I think I tried to animate too much and I am inexperienced at the moment :P. Still it is good practice.

I animated her face, hair and ears.

Second practice with Photoshop, this one has more frames so that the animation doesn't stop and start. Nine frames for this one instead of five in my Miiku one. Gonna work more on this one, just happy this is good ^^.

Practice

I was just practicing with water colours to draw backgrounds, so far in this animation I am up to 50 frames and I still have a way for Miiku to go before she gets to the front of the image. And then I am going to have to flesh her out and work on the form more. So far though, I am happy I have been able to move the figure and it is walking :). Just so much work to do and working on the computer tires me out a lot.

New Years Celebration

I think this is finished. It was a big project, I am pleased with how it turned out. These are my characters Amara and Miiku, in a county fair. It's my first time adding a lot of people in besides my main characters, so it was very good practice.
I am very happy with this.

Digital Work - Lineart Finished

Finished the lineart, took pretty much all morning to complete. I now have the hard step of colouring this. Though hopefully it shouldn't be too bad, I hope I can magic wand and fill colour into the drawing without having to patch up holes in the lineart.
